Sleep. A lot. Take some medicine, but not too much. If you like spicy foods, eat something really spicy (the kind where you have tears running down your face cuz it's so hot). That usually works for me.

If you are over 21, drink plenty of alcoholic beverages; alcohol kills the germs. No matter what the age is, start drinking plenty of fluids, preferably those rich in vitamin c (i.e. orange juice, Hawaiian Punch, Kool Aid). Stay active and keep blowing your nose. You may also want to take some of the medicine that you take to prevent sickness.

Try taking some Airborne or Emergen C. They contain vitamins and will help if you feel like you're getting sick. Also, get lots of rest and wash your hands when coming into contact with a sick person.

If you take echinechia(spell check) before the cold really gets bad it can help. Otherwise try to drink some hot lemonjuice and honey.
