My husbands buddy said his doctor told him that. He said if you are trying to have a boy, you should stop smoking pot for at least 6 months.

There is NOTHING that you can do short of choosing a male embrio before being inseminated that will determine wether you have a boy or a girl.
My sons father smoked pot.

My husband was smoking pot at the time we were trying to get pregnant. I tried to get him to stop but he wouldn't listen to me. Anyhow he dosen't smoke pot anymore.

It took me a year to get pregnant (had been on depo 3 years prior to trying) and i had a baby boy.

So i think that is not true but what is true is smoking pot can lower a man's sperm count not being able to get someone pregnant with a boy.

Well thats what every one says! How long have you been trying for? And does he still smoke? Because when i met my fiance he just got out of jail and it was like a few months that its been since he last smoked. And it took us almost a year to conceive our beautiful little girl!

That is honestly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. No doctor in his right mind would give such advice.
I think your husband's buddy made that up- and this furthers the belief that pot kills brain cells.

It makes it more diffult to conceive, I dont know specifically about a boy though. I'm surprised his doctor only said to stop for 6 months. Most reputable doctors would suggest quitting alltogether.

Definitely. Because in genetics, male gives "xy" chromosomes. And females give "xx" chromosomes. Thus, each has to give one chromosome. As you see here, in order to get a boy, the male needs to give a "y" chromosome. "x" always from female, "x or y" from male (Boy = "xy"). So, the chances of getting a boy is way less than getting a girl.

If a male smokes marijuana, his chances of producing sperm will be very low. And of course, you need need sperm in order for a female to conceive. No sperm = no baby, Thus, no "y" chromosome from male.

My method is take cold shower before sex for male and take hot shower for girl. I think male sperm hate hot water. It's work for me. I got one boy and one girl. If your hubby smokes marijuana then I think all sperms got drunk can't find eggy.
