If you have sex on it......it's a couch.
If you want to show it off to your girly girl friend that love to redecorate......it's a sofa (holds up the swatches).
If you sit and entertain a gentleman caller, it is a settee.
If you are older than dirt......you freaking call it a davenport.

In my living room it`s a sofa. In my family room it`s a couch.
A settee is on my deck, the davenport can go to hell.
