A wife that nags every second.

Like the "clicks" of the second hand of a clock.....nagging "click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. click. .............."

Yin Yang Twins did a song called Naggin; women do tend to repeatedly complain / mention irrelevent issues. A wife is a woman. That's all he's saying.

clockwork = mechanical

like a windup toy. "clockwork mouse" has a spring and mechanisms like a clock wind it up with a key etc.
