Considering they spent all their election platforms
on how gays are evil...are they proud to have a gay
member in their party who pounces on underage boys?

Not only that .. there is a so called "velvet Mafia" of people that are protecting several other gay Rebublicans currently serving. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay.. but as you say .. politically, they would have to vote against themselves with their current mind set of gays being bad people. Good Luck and thank you ! :)

Are Democrats proud of their gay man Gerry Studds, who admitted having a sexual relationship with a 17 year old page in 1973 and was censured by the House? They must be proud. After being censured, the Democrats gave him three standing ovations.
Now with Foley, the Democrats act so shocked and disgusted. Oh well, typical. Hypocrisy is a trait well mastered by the American Left.

Are the Dems proud of Gerry Studds and his pages for rent escort service? Or Barney Frank?
There are bad apples in every barrel.
But at least the Republicans dealt with it quickly and decisively once there was proof. And Foley never actually had sex with a page.
Why didn't Gerry Studds go to jail or resign?
Take your double standard and move to the Peoples Republic of Hilarydom.

I am not so sure they are proud of him, many are cutting and running. That does not mean they didn't know before all this got out and some were not trying to hide it.

Who knows? What is clear is that Foley did this to himself and he should pay just as he demanded of those whom he sought laws to be written and passed for. Children should not be sexual toys and under aged engagement is not OK!

YES... they are!
They must be proud of him, because not too many of them have a lot to say about this hot-button issue.
But...alas...I suppose many Republicans feel that...
(a) there is absolutely nothing wrong with a middle-aged, white male e-mail buggering a young, innocent, pouty, cherubic, teenaged boy, and..yet...
(b) there is everything wrong with Clinton getting "Lewinskied' in the Oval Office!
Go figure!

They must be very proud. They did defend him right down to the time that he resigned. The speaker of the House, Hastert, is making excuses for doing nothing to reprimand him, before Foley's resignation.
