this is something between you and God.It all depends on what you believe some churches say 10% some say from the heart.Remember this, its all Gods.I believe if you give at least 10% like he told us you will reap the rewards.I think though this is really between you and God.You must be a joyful giver or dont give it at all.If its hard to give it you probably are not where you need to be with God.Pray about it and do what comes out of your prayers.God loves you and if you truly believe in him and have a one on one relationship with him he will show you exactly what to do.

There's a difference between a tithe and an offering. The first one-tenth of your increase belongs to the Lord. Anything more than that is an offering from the heart.

God or whoever that is doesn't need any tithes. If like the religious like to say, god owns everything then why should god need tithes? God owns that money or whatever it is that you are tithing too, doesn't it? So what is the point? No logic or rational to it. The tithe is for the priest or reverend or whoever it is.

10% of whatever you make belongs to God... as it is written in the scripture. That 10% is required, anything on top of that 10% is your sacrifice to the Lord. You cannot say " I am sacrificing my 10% to You..." because that 10% belongs to Him. so if you give 15% of whatever you make, you fulfilled that 10% tithe plus you gave 5% as a sacrifice to the Lord. Heard of the saying "Give til' it hurts?" If you believe, God will really bless you a hundredfold.
God bles you!

it's been debating for centuries... :)
me, myself, I give 90%, n then live by the 10%.
simply ask urself.
giving must come from the heart. u know which one is the best according 2 ur heart. :)
but if u give 10% only because U HAVE TO,... u bound by the law of moses and not live by grace.
u must give anything based on ur love to the Lord.
but if believe God wants u to give the 10%, obey Him. :)

Personally, I think you should give what you can to the poor and less fortunate. Too many churches around here use it to buy indoor swimming pools, gymnasiums, etc.

oryyyo is absolutely correct. God said "Test me in this. I will bless the other 90%." Does that sound like it's worth it or what?!

I think whatever you give cheerfully is great whatever you can give is GREAT if you give cheerfully if you give 10% not cheerfully than that isn't good.
