I think to do the OU you have to be super-motivated. If you're going to a uni with tutors and that, there's always someone there to kick your ar$e into action. At home there's no-one to kick ar$e but yourself.

I've thought about doing OU to do my Masters after the degree I'm on now, because juggling a child single-handedly and having to drag my knackered ar$e all the way to uni every day drives me mad.

Yes but it doesn't teach spelling!!! Do you mean studying? I did an OU degree and loved the tutorials, the assignments and most of all the Summer Schools. It is GREAT because it gives you a second chance to qualify if you missed the chance at the usual time in life. Downside is it is a bit expensive now so has really lost it's concept of "open".

I have great respect for anyone doing an OU degree. Its a lot harder doing one when you have a family / job etc than when you go at age 18 straight from school

It is great for studying. I done the first part of computing and data.
The on line tutors were very helpful and if you are unemployed you can get the course payed for.

Yes but you have to teach yourself and won't get much help. Its good though if you have other commitments and will not have time for going to college or uni.
