While I don't believe it would do the following, it is a possiblity that could be argued:

If the more teens have a car and parents who won't pay for gas, insurance, and the acutal car then they will need a job.

The more available you are the more likely you are to get a job.

As a result teens may drop out of school so that they are available for the job and can have the independence of a car.

That however is very extreme, and highly unlikely, but it was all I could think of.

The connection between the two are like a connection between the existence of pirates and global warming.

It has little, if anything, to do with the school dropout rate. Dropping out of school is the act of placing other things (whatever they may be) in higher priority than education. That is the student has decided that getting an education is not a valuable experience.

That the student is wrong is beyond question. To intentionally throwaway the value of education, something the student has a right to obtain as well as the need for life, is like shooting yourself in the foot. It is the intentionally hurting of one’s self for no logical reason. It is a decision of the student, not other things making them drop out.

The fact that schools are so bad makes them want to drop out, and no one is going to lower the driving age beyond what it already is, anyway.
