Cause there was this guy that almost asked me last time, and I don't wanna be mean or anything, but I don't like him at all that way, how would I reject him without being mean (he's kinda a geek, so I'm afraid he'll like never talk to me again)

And also this is homecoming I'm talking about, semiformal. I have a somewhat round face and shoulderlenght hair, so should I go with straight hair or wavy hair?

As a bonus, some good moves, please, I'm tired of copying other people, and don't tell me to watch music videos, take up dance, just do "what feels right" or anything like that. Real dance moves, please? Tired of being a wallflower...

Thanks!!!

Oh, uh is it okay to include the actual word "sorry" in my answer, or would that come off as me feeling sorry for him, perhaps?

"Thank you, but I'm taking a little brake now"
"Sorry, I really don't like this music. Maybe when better music is on I'll invite you".
"Sorry, I already promised my next dance to someone else" (beautiful old-fashioned stuff, isn't it?)
"Sorry, I was dancing with someone else now, but I'm actually taking a little brake"

Of course, after you turned it down with excuses like "I"m waiting for better music" it's not polite to go dance with someone else instead. I'm sure you understand. Doing that would be even more embarrassing than dancing with an unpopular guy.

For grinding, go to wikipedia, do a search on "grind dance" it has a very comprehensive description.

Sorry, when people ask about grinding and how to do it I'm at loss as of how to teach any dance steps. To me, people either grind or they dance. Yeah, I dislike it that much. :-)

Proper etiquette is to never turn down a dance. Besides, if others see you dance with him, they may respect you more. All eyes on you, maybe the dance right after that is from the most gorgeous guy in the world. Don't be a wallflower, show everyone you have a good heart!
And don't "grind", how disrespectful to yourself!

Realize he's probably only asking you to dance, not get married and bare his children. Be kind, be honest. I hope you are both. The hair? Wavy usually best compliments a somewhat round face and guys love curly or wavy hair more than we'll admit to you (go with your instinct). Real dance moves? Maybe practice dancing in your room by yourself or some other place that is private, it's how you can learn to express yourself freely and in an individual manner.I hope you have a great time.

If you are in a public place; say, "oh, sounds fun, but i really have to use the bathroom." Do not say catch ya next time leave no leads for next time. Don't just say that you are going to sit this one out, because the person in question will insist on sitting with you. You must remove yourself from the situation. Then, just space your self across the room, and do not make eye contact.

And off topic. Why Do Nice Guys always finish last when all a girl ever complains about is a guy not treating her right.
And Honesty always works. If he gets upset he wasnt worth being friends with, if he understands then Honesty really did work. Dont think too hard about it.

to turn down a dance nicely just say you already have a date trust me I do it all the time like just last week my co-worker asked if I wanted to come to his house to have some fun if you know what i mean and i put my ring on the other finger and said i was was married. If you want to do what I do go ahead.

The best thing to do is to be honest with him It might hurt but, the truth is always better. Tell him "No thank you, But thank you for asking." Honesty is always the best policy
