Clearance Victor Grimmett, a Leg Break Googly Bowler of Australia was the first spin bowler to take 100 wickets. He took 101 wickets from 17 Test Matches.

Saqlain Mushtaq of Pakistan was the first spin bowler to take 100 wickets in one day internationals. He took 101 wickets from 53 one day internationals.
