I'm going to assume that the barren land will dry first simply because the water will be hidden by the grass and not effected as much by the sun.

Depends what type of barren it is. It could be a desert or a frozen wasteland.
Obviously if it was desert, it would dry quicker. If it was a frozen wasteland, then it would freeze before it dried.
But if the two pieces of land were in the same place, if you know what i mean. Then i'd say the piece of land without the grass.

At first thought it would be the one barren. But that would be totally impossible. Because barren lands receive no rain. So my anwer goes for the grassland by default.

The barren because the soil will absorb the rain... well actually, it depends on the amount of sunshine on each land piece... you almost had me there!

It will get absorbed faster into the dry land. And will stay on the grass longer in the grassy land.
