I wouldn't worry though as it will probably be a couple of billion years after 2010 and without some serious advancements in medical science it is quite unlikely any of us will still be around to see it. It is possible and even quite likely that the human race self destructs long before the world itself ends. Again the likelihood of us obliterating ourselves isn't that likely for a while yet. Bush needs to make a few more enemies before they feel the only option to stop him is the total wipe out of the human race.

I believe the point is derrived from the Mayan (?) calendar saying that the end of the current Era or Age is 2012...And, arguably, anything could happen after that. Of course, anything can happen at any time, within certain contexts, so that's a silly statement.

Now, the real question is whether we got the calculations of their calendar correct.. cause we could still be totally blowing it.
