I believe you can contact ebay through your "My Ebay" and you can have the bid retracted. And as the others say contact the seller immediately.

Cancel you bid. You can do that. But it will show up on your profile.

I never did that until this year when I read the fine print on a bunch of seeds I was bidding on from one american-farina. They way way way overcharged for shipping. What items I was stuck with earned them negative feedback.

I think you can withdraw your bid from your profile page or your myebay page. If the auction ends with you still the bidder, you are obligated to pay.

Do a search on similar items. If its clear to you that the item will go for much more than what you bid you may be able to just let someone outbid you.

Its no big deal to withdraw your bid so long as you don't do it all the time.

You have to contact the seller and tell him it was a mistake and ask if he will work with you. Maybe if listing closes and you are the winning bid, you could offer to PayPal him the listing fees to list it again. This would be a compromise I would accept. Good Luck.

Go into my ebay and on your bidding item you can cancel it there. Or just refuse to pay in the end and tell the seller your perdicerment

I don't think this qualifies as an emergency. Email the seller & ask them to cancel your bid.

you can do a bid retraction. But it looks bad on your feedback. you can leave an explanation though.
