Imagine if you had been chatting to a group of friends, minding your own business and this woman who you didn't get on with interrupted you and told you that effectively, no one was interested in what you were saying. When you told her to keep her nose out as she hadn't been asked for her opinion and she reacted by maliciously throwing a drink in your face.....would it be acceptable to throw one back at her and hit her twice with an umbrella?

It happened to me! This was a long time ago. I went to a show in Vegas and I happened to be alone. There was a girl sitting there with her date across from me who was drunk, but started laughing at me and making fun of me for being alone. I simply laughed along with her, and when I didn't become angry, she threw a drink at me. The security came down and they the guy had to pick her up and carry her out, with her date following along, who apologized.

I would give her a good backhander and face the consequences afterwards, something like that happened to me in a night club nothing came of it as the women had been making a pest of herself earlier.
