Because they create a wind tunnel. Sucks.

> Buildings are obstructions that the wind must go around. Bernoulli's principle indicates that this results in increased wind velocity

> Wind speed increases as altitude increases, so tall buildings obstruct faster winds to start with, resulting in even faster winds going around the building

> A tall building will divert some of the faster winds near the top downward, increasing the wind flow at the bottom.

A guy who'd obviously had a skinful got chatting to a fellow customer at the bar at the top of the Empire State Building. The topic of thermal dynamics around skyscrapers arose and they couln't agree. The first guy insisted that the wind patterns were so perverse that he could safely leap out the window and the only thing that would happen is that he'd be blown straight back in and land on his bar-stool.

When challenged - he demonstrated the phenomenon - six times, then turned to his new-found friend and said "Now you try it".

Straight down - terminal velocity acheived in 7 seconds, strawberry jello on the sidewalk (no animals were injured in the telling of this joke).

The Barkeep turned to the first guy and said "You can be a real bastard when you're drunk, Superman"

Hi

The building stops the cold wind as the result the wind tries to find way to travel and it find its way in between the tall buildings. so you feel a greater push by the wind.
Its like you save money for a while and then spend iit at once.(Greater Force)
I hope this hepled you

well..The winds gets into where the buildings are and it can't get out so it just spins around and around until it finds a way to get out.
