It is true that with change of environment there will be change of people as well.
Your going to find men that are jerks everywhere you go, the best thing to do is find a guy who will make a good friend first and hang out with him, get to know what he's like and then you can go from there.
If you are friends with a guy first then things are bound to open up for you. Friendship is a good way to form a bond with someone and then you two will get to know each other and understand each other alot better. After hanging out with a guy friend for awhile you will get a good idea of what kind of guy he is as a friend and maybe a potential boyfriend.
I dated alot of losers when I was your age that were not worth my time in the end. My current boyfriend and I didn't start dating until about 3 months ago but we were very good friends for about 2 years before and now I'm so thankful that it worked out that way!
Good luck!

you're being kind of harsh on the men of the westside all the boys cant possibly be that bad or maybe your not lookin in the right places. i feel ya about those unworthy guys cuz no woman should be treated like that but make sure your judging these guys fairly. wait and see find some kind of activity that allows you to associate with a lot people eventually you will find mr. right

Bless your heart. At 17 you just moved to CA - do you realy want to be the property of some guy you have to answer to already? I've lived here all my life and had a bf at 15. the best times I ever had is when I was single.
As far as good guys here go I finally figured out what makes one. He has to have a solid resume, good to his mother. And believes in some sort of higher power. a true hero

Just hang in there, there are some good guys out there, they just haven't shown up yet. Rnjoy your new move and first find some friends then worry about a boyfriend, that will come sooner or later.

Don't be too impatient. I know it seems like an eternity! Boys your age are immature. If you wait a few years, you'll meet a man that deserves you. And remember, having a boyfriend isn't a be all to end all.

I had my first "Real Boyfriend" when i was 19 and i'm glad i waited and didnt submit to peer pressure. Dont stress yourself out just because you dont have a boyfriend. You can still enjoy and have fun by hanging out with friends. The right person will just come along and when they do, you will be glad you waited :-)

don't worry about it you will find someone eventually. stop look for him, let him find you. he will come and plus you have plenty of time, work on finishing school you really don't want to be tied down. next year or this year is college and their is more to choose from.
