It is left over from last christmas and it has done very well until lately. All of the sudden it's leaves are turning yellow and falling off at a fairly rapid rate. I water it about once a week or when the soil is dry. Should I be giving it some plant food? Should I keep it in the closet? Any and all help towards the care of this plant is wanted thanks.

Feel the weight of the pot when it's wet and when it's dry. When you lift it after that if it feels heavy leave it alone. If it's light give it some water. Plants are resilient. If you go a little too long without water it will wilt to show you. Wilting does no permanent damage if you water it when you see it.

Another way to measure is go down 1" in the soil. If it's dry water it. If it's still moist let it alone.
