I'm almost 28wks, and I have a little belly. Where's the baby then? How is it that there's probably a 3pnd or so baby in there that's probably about 15in. long? You can tell I'm pregnant but NOT like the other women I see that are 7months!!! He moves a lot, but is it possible to have your uterus grow and not the baby? My doc always comes into the room presses on my belly and says, "you're doing awesome" that's all. How does he know if there's a problem, especially if one developed after my ultrasound which was perfect? Help I'm worried and don't know whatI'm supposed to be feeling and experiencing right now. 1st pregnancy too! Thanks!!!!

Dont worry sweetheart. The baby is growing. Your baby might be just small like both of mine were. You still have some time though, watch in the last month you will blow up. So just relax and have a good pregnancy, cause if you worry the baby can feel that.

I have a very small uterus and am a small person and I was the size of 3 months along when I delivered. My daughter was 4 pounds 9 oz and healthy. She did stop growing because she had no room to grow, but other than that was fine. Some woman don't show until later on and some like me just barely show. I had a ton of doctors and nurses come filing into the operating room when I had my daughter csection because they could not believe there was a baby in there. It happens. As long as the doctor says you are healthy and your ultrasound doesn't show anything abnormal then it is fine. If you are really concerned ask your doctor lots of questions.

EVERY pregnancy is different. when i was pregnant.. i didnt start showing till i was about 6 months along.. my sister was comparably the size of a small planet at 20 weeks.

I was so excited to be showing.. but by 37 weeks i was ready to be done .. .i am only 64 inches tall at 37 weeks i was 57 inches around.. that was before i started gaining most of my pregnacy weight...

give another 2 weeks or so and u should start Poking out a lil more.. and u may not at all some women dont.

Good luck either way

Yes for sure everyone is different. Some women who have a uterus that is situated further towards their backs, don't ever get really big, due to the placement of the uterus.
I have a friend who barely showed at full term with all three of her kids. She just looked like she had a little bump and no waist. Myself on the other hand with all four of mine grew as big as a house. So, I would not worry too much and as long as the doctor says you are doing great, be assured he knows what he is saying. Rest assured it sounds like all is fine!

Hi there.

I'm in the same boat s you.. i'm 28 weeks and I don't have even half of the belly that most people at 28 weeks do. I was the same way with my first son, too. By the time I delivered him at 36 weeks, I could barely fit into maternity pants. I have been told that my uterus is pretty far back, so I carry very low and in front. Maybe that is why...

As long as your doc says you're doing fine, I wouldn't worry about it. (Mine says the same thing to me)

Maybe we're blessed to not get that big.. I got through my first one without any stretch marks at all and lost all my weight when I delivered! :)

Good Luck!

Since this is your first baby you will not show as much as someone who has already had a child. Also, diet and body type have a lot do with it. When having boys the baby makes you get wider instead of stick out, like a girl does.
Also it depends if you were underweight, average or over weight before you had the baby. I know girls that were 5lbs overweight before they concieved and they didn't look any different while pregnant than before. I have also had the same thing with my underweight friends except they just looked normal instead of ultra thin.

especially your first pregnancy, you belly will all of a sudden be huge... at about 30-32 weeks(Thats how it was for me anyway) be glad your not huge now!! I have had 4 children and was HUGE with all of them, except my first... your doctor knows what he is doing... if there was ANY question at all that your baby wasnt growing, they would know, but you could always ask for another ultrasound if you want to ease your mind. tell you doc how you feel... they are very understanding and will do whatever it takes to make you feel better!

I have grown the most since I hit the 30 week mark. I'm 35 weeks now and a feel like I've doubled in size!! usually the last 10 weeks is when you grow the most!

well if your doctor is telling you the pregnancy is fine, what's the worry? everyone is different. your body type is unique to any other woman, just be thankful you can have children at all! there are women out there that wish they could have kids, having a baby belly or not!

EVERY woman carries different, gains weight differently, no 2 pregnancies are the same. If your doctor seems to think you are doing awesome - then you are. If you are having second guesses about your doctor, its never too late to get a second opinion. Consider yourself lucky! Most women that get really big get unsightly stretch marks that will never go away so be thankful!
