he drinks about 6 to 12 beers a day, he said he would stop before our first child was born and we are two kids in the whole. He refuses to go to AA and his grandfather died of alcohol abuse. What are some convincing words of advice for him, crying doesn't work all the time

Ask him and tell him of your concerns. Some men can handle a few beers a day. Others, like myself, ones to many and a million is not enough. If this is bothering you though you need to discuss it with your husband.

Well, guys drink for alot of reasons. If he's an alcoholic, he may need your help, but if he just loves getting wasted then you have to let him know in a loving way that it hurts you when he drinks. Explain that he means the world to you, but be firm when you express how YOU feel.

He may drink, just because he likes the taste. If this is true, try to get him to settle for non-alcoholic every now and then .... Maybe buy it "by accident" and maybe.... (Maybe)... he'll stop.

If all else fails.... Cry. when you express how you feel with emotions, guys tend to pay attention more. Since you guys are married, he obviously loves you, he should understand,

Could be a number of things: 1. He likes the taste of alcohol 2. He uses alcohol to relax 3. He uses it to escape from reality 4. He likes the way it makes him feel 5. He is an alcoholic It could be one of the above or a combination of two or more. I don't really know if he wants you there or not since I really don't know either of you or anything more than he drinks and runs you out.

As long as he's not doing any harm, then it's okay. Just ask yourself, how much does he drink? If it's excessive, then he may have a problem which you should talk to him about. He definitely has a problem if he's agressive. It may just stem from his father if he drank a lot. May be nothing but it could be everything. Good Luck

Alcohol is an addiction that will get worse over time. He will need to drink more and more to feel the effects, eventually ruining his health. Maybe, if he is willing, try to have him hypnotized, or AAA meetings before someone else gets hurt.

i had that same problem with a guy i dated once. it's not like he got drunk every night, but the first thing he did when he walked through the door was get a beer! now i drink beer, but 7 beers a night, seemed excessive to me. talk to him about it. even though it's not really a problem, it bothers you and it could easily become a problem later.

Tough one, since alcoholics tend NOT to stop their addictive behaviors if they really don't want to.

Best advice.

Leave the loser and get with a real man.
