They say that spotting is but a regular period is definitely not normal.

Whoever is pregnant should phone a doctor immediately, either way.

I had my period (irregular) for the first 3 months of my pregnancy. That is how I never knew I was pregnant until 3 months along. My OB told me that it does happen sometimes. Now if you are bleeding excessively those first months I might be concerned and talk with the doctor. Usually it is irregular bleeding or spotting.

A full on period is NOT normal. Especially if you see blood "clots" during your first trimester and are experiencing cramps you are most likely experiencing a miscarriage. My doctor told me that if you start to spot a little bit get off your feet RIGHT AWAY, if it continues to get worse, go to the hospital immediately! Contact your doctor or your local hospital for advice if you are unsure.

no a period during pregnancy is not normal but was is normal during pregnancy there are some women that do spot but if you were cleared by a doctor than you should have nothing to worry about.

I remember reading somewhere that its' about 30% of women who get some kind of period during pregnancy.

I wouldn't say it's normal but it happens. I would certainly check with a doctor to make sure everything is all right.
