There are many reasons. Usually, it is in retailiation for something the batter did in the past to the pitcher (or his team) or to in retaliation for the opposing team's pitcher hitting one of their batters. Sometimes, it is to send a message to the other team, basically trying to get guys off the inside part of the plate.

It honestly is a ineffective ball. i think of the ump in basic terms made a terrible call. from time to time they do this. Umps would be problematic from time to time. I play baseball and that i are conscious of it rather is a ineffective ball. additionally I discovered the no longer common way that if a ball hits the batter in the hand no remember how no longer common from the wrist up it counts as hitting the bat. you would be able to desire to get effectual by whacking the ball such as your hand!
