i personally love the guy, but i was talking with my black friends and they were saying that there will never be a black president and that the government would do something before electing a black man as president.
what do you think?

I have extremely impressed by the man - both by his positions and by the clarity with which he articulates those positions.

He is quite moderate, extremely bright, and the single best public speaker I've heard in a generation or more.

Finally, he's the first person I've encountered in my life that made me think, "this man should be president!"

So yes - I think he'll run, and I think he'll win.

I think there will be a black person in the oval office some day and definitely a woman some day.

But he or she will not be there for any other reason other than he or she is the best person for the job.

And it won't be Barak Obama.

Maybe Condi Rice if the Republicans can get her to agree to be VP in 08 and then run herself after 8 years assuming her ticket is elected twice.

She would make a fine president and it has nothing what so ever to do with her race or gender.

Barak Obama and Harold Ford are the only two members of the Democrankie Party I'd support for president. They're both good men.

I think your black friends are WRONG! The American people are ready willing and able to not only have a black president, but also a woman president. I would definitely support and vote for Obama!

Well, I can't speak for our Black Americans, but we will have a black president, and one day a female president. I think Mr. Obama won't make it this time, but he will be prime in 8 years.

He probably wouldn't be any worse than some we've had.... but I don't believe that he has enough experience to run in the next election... maybe the one after that. A stint as vice president could help.

With today's intensive partisanship, America is deeply divided in both domestic and foreign issues. Why would anyone with a sane mind want to become president?

I have to disagree. I would have voted for Colin Powell in a hearbeat had he ran, and I think a lot of people felt that way.

I say good luck to him... as much as I know he seems to be a great guy.
EDIT Apparently I confused him with the guy from Ohio.... I thought this was the Republican... i REALLY like the guy from Ohio, is it Ohio? Anyways, he's a black guy and I think he's amazing. Race doesn't matter to me, but party line does.

If he runs I would certainly vote for him. He has all the qualities to be a good and respected leader.
