At //finance.yahoo.com/stocks, if, for example I first enter ALPHX at "Get Chart" (then press that button) and then enter JAMNX at "Add Compare Symbol" (then press the GO button), the results are very different than if I simply reverse the data entry sequence (i.e., first enter JAMNX at "Get Chart" and then enter ALPHX at "Add Compare Symbol").

ALPHX/JAMNX will be exactly the opposite of JAMNX/ALPHX.

If one was a Downtrend, the other will be an Uptrend.

This is probably a ratio chart, one divided by the other, used to see which is stronger. It doesn't matter which is in the numerator or the denominator, as long as you keep track.

Many people use this method to compare sectors and find the strongest one. Then they compare the stocks within that sector to find the strongest one or three. Then they will look for new buy signals among these three stocks.

I just tried it. The two charts look exactly alike.
