LOS ANGELES, Oct. 6 — A documentary film featuring an extraordinarily candid interview with a former priest convicted of molesting children has heightened interest among law enforcement officials here in considering a criminal case against Cardinal Roger M. Mahony, says a prosecutor who has been investigating sexual abuse cases involving priests.
In the documentary, “Deliver Us From Evil,” the former priest, Oliver O’Grady, describes how he abused young boys and girls across central California over 20 years, including a period in the 1980’s when Cardinal Mahony was his superior as the bishop in Stockton.

The former priest, who lives in Ireland, said he was able to continue abusing children in part because of actions by Cardinal Mahony.

Yes I know I watched the same Panorama Programme 2.
It is scary 2 realise that the Man that drew up the Vatican Papers, detailing Secrecy goes straight 2 the top & was none other than the Pope or Cardinal Ratzinger, as he was then.
He's already shown a tendency 2 B out-spoken regarding Islam, but B out-spoken over Child Abuse?
He seems 2 B strangely quiet.
I get the feeling he really couldn't care less.
I read a report compiled sometime ago when a reporter asked him why he'd left these paedophile priest 2 continue in their jobs.
His answer was
they were good Priests.

Religious Organisations should B investigated same as every1 else.
Just coz it's the Vatican, it should make no difference.

I think the judicial system is more catholic then we know. Which means that they (government) are scared to death if the priest dies before them, goes to heaven, gives the names of those people to St. Peter that when they come up, not to let them in LOL. one thing is scary about the subject. a local tv station did a story on this. I knew one of the accused on the list. All the more reason to let the preist get married. I don't know if you have heard, but in I belive Pittsburgh PA, There was a group of women who chartered a boat and had a ceramony to ordaine themselves as Catholic Preist. About 7 of them I think 5 of them were married. They are now ex-communicated from the "Church". Thank GOD. I would hate to hear the talk after the confessions LOL "... well judy told me that .... " "... and Bill was not home for .... " just kidding but it does give someting to think about

when somebody is guilty to the bone.about his wrongdoing...always will be find somebody to blame...for his action...the criminal priest.who found a nest in Ireland, are adult enough for to be responsible for his sin or a legal felony.
that nasty to blame at cardinal Roger Mahony.about his own distorted behaviors...the church sould criminalize that attitude as criminal matter, and sould call the authority as soon as possible.
