I'm 19 now and I was going through a stupid phase then. It was a class b misdemeanor. Reason asking is before I did that when I applied for jobs I got them. Now I don't know if its on my record so I tell in advance and haven't gotten a job since. Come on I stole $40 worth of stuff, yes I know it was stupid, it was my first and last time and I ended up paying $500 for $40. Yes I learned my lesson.

You may ask for a report from Public Records, it will cost you five dollars, but not much you can do about it, you were 18 at the time of your arrest so that record is going to be with you for the most part of your life.. good luck.. cyb

you are an adult at 18 when you got arrested. first of all, i thought theft would be a felony, and why you have misdemeanor? did you have a lawyer? did your case get dismissed? if it did, then when you went to court, you should have received a yellow form of paper titled " motion to dismiss". and did you file an exspounge with the lawyer to clear your record? you have paid him about 500 if you did. if you paid about 200 to the court just to pay off the fine, then you will have a record. you should have a stack of stapled papers saying your record is cleared and it has everyone signature on it, the judge, police department, lawyer...everyone. if you dont have those 2 documentations, then you have a criminal record. the reason i know this is because i went through the same thing you did, exept i was 19 at arrest date for possesion of narcotics. so the process is still fresh in my mind, even i am 21 now. hope this helps.

Your best bet is to go to the local police or sheriff's officeand ask the desk sergeant for the Records Section.. There, they would have your arrest record. There might be a fee for this so bring some cash and some ID.

If you were 18 at the time, you were an "adult", and yes, it's going to be on your record. BTW, be honest, but don't tell them anything unless they ask. Being dishonest and then being fired for it will look even worse.
