A Glock is detectable by a metal detector. In fact, a Glock is said to have more metal pieces inside the receiver than a steel Colt 1911. Just the reciever is a plastic polymer (technically, just about everything is a type of polymer). There isn't a Glock made out of ceramic. That's just a movie flub from "Die Hard II" that's sort of caught on. The slide is still made out of metal, the internals are metal. Most of the magazines are metal. And as someone pointed out, the ammo is metal. So if you wear it, it'll set off the metal detector. If you put it in a bag, the x-ray will still show the profile of the firearm. About the only way you could keep it from looking like a pistol is to melt it down and recast it as a paperweight.

They're not, so they're always detected by metal detectors. This is a myth.
