No the Man never fought in a WAR he was a DRAFT Dodger , Did his best to weaken the Military.

The Aircraft Carriers named For former Presidents Is a new thing
and is not a Requirement. the First Carriers were not.
Constellation, kitty hawk, Lexington, Intrepid, saratoga these were not Presidents name.Forestall, Enterprise, Nimitz,America, again no Presidents. it wasn't until the Kennedy 1980 that a carrier was named for a former President now we have the
Abraham Lincoln , The Teddy Roosevelt, The Ronald Regan, And now the George H Bush named for the Current Bush's Daddy. No Carrier should be named for any President.

No. Bill Clinton hated the military, and never understood how to use it properly. Had Reagan, Kennedy, Roosevelt, or any number of strong presidents been in office instead of Clinton, 9-11 would never have happened. To make certain you understand this is a bi-partisan answer, I certainly wouldn't want one in the future for W. either.

The President whose greatest accomplishment was the American Family Leave Act and the pruning of government by decimating our military? The Family Leave Act was a good thing, but hardly one to put someone in the history books. I'd rather see an aircraft carrier named after Johnson, Truman, or Kennedy by far!!! They all had positive historic roles to play as President. Clinton has nothing going for him except charisma and that doesn't cut it with me.

I think it would be more appropriate if Clinton actually had some military accomplishment to his name. Reagan has a carrier named after him, but one can at least make a case that his policies contributed to winning the cold war.

If we're going for irony here, I'd love to see a carrier named after Gandhi. :-)

How about a pig boat! Your suggestion is the biggest oxymoron I've read on this blog.

You're talking about a man who despises the military complex, as does is wife. This is a man who avoided the draft and went to Russia to protest against his country. This is a man who didn't have the courage to use our military, when it needed to be used. Or, misused his power, causing the deaths of nineteen Rangers in Somalia.

Who, in their right minds, would volunteer to serve on that ship?
