Is it a Cheetah? Is it a Sloth? The purpose of the question is to find out what animal is built in a way it utilizes all its faculties efficiently in motion with the least wasted energy. In full stride it seems to glide effortlessly. Any insight would be appreciated. :)

When I say land animal. Nothing smaller than a house cat or bigger than a large horse. So you can say my interest is in reptiles and mammals. Size is a funny thing in the animal world. Too big requires more energy and speed slows down. Human beings are not efficient animals by design. Our "big brains" is a factor in why we burn so many calories a day. Non flying Insects are too small to travel great distances. Its more a question of how the animal is "engineered". Little consumption with the ability to create energy "motion" to a high degree. Think of it like how some cars get better gas mileage than others. Two cars get the same amount of gas but one car goes 100 miles more on the same amount of gas. Efficiency in motion
