I think you are thinking of NTN, now called Buzztime. They have a blue game box available to participants with trivia questions shown on TV screens around the site. You compete with the other players at the site and, via satellite, with other players throughout North America. There are a variety of games during the day; but the most common one is called Count Down. There are 5 possible answers given for each question. You get 3 clues. The first 2 clues eliminate 2 wrong answers. The third clue usually gives the correct answer. The faster you get the correct answer the more points you get. There are 15 questions per game for a possible maximum score of 15,000 points. Playing sites and other information can be obtained at www.ntn.com or www.buzztime.com.
