The dishwasher is approximately 12 yrs. old and still works fine, other than it has stopped draining.

Check the drain solenoid that is mounted on the pump side -- could be burned out -- not activating the flapper valve inside the water pump to let the water pump out. Can also be in the timer. Drain hose could be plugged--especially at the garbage disposal drain connection--take the drain hose off and inspect this point. Also inspect the food trap inside for blockage--underneath this you will find a stainless steel cutting wheel and also a "paddle wheel"--this wheel could be worn completly smooth and a replacement is required.Have fun---Good Luck.
