We are 99.9% identical to each other at the DNA sequence level.

---

"All human beings are nearly identical at the genetic level, and the complete set of genes and other features of our DNA sequence are essentially the same. Yet every human being is also unique: comparison of the sequence of any two genomes reveals a difference every 1000 bases. This corresponds to around 3 million differences in the entire 3,000 Mb sequence. Most of the variations are single base changes, such as a "G" in place of an "A" at the same position. Both forms may be common in the population. They are called single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; single nucleotide = single base; polymorphism = more than one form). Other changes include deletions or insertions of one or more bases."
