It depends; the Republications want to stick it out long enough for the elected Iraqi government to take control of their country. The Democrats want to put their tail between their legs and run.

PS. After thinking about my original answer for a little bit and reading Dr O’s answer. I wanted to add that the current liberal “cut and run” mentality is what is encouraging the insurgents/terrorist in Iraq. They can see that they can win if they keep it stirred up long enough for the liberals in the United States to gain control. What a lost that would be for the long term peace of this world.

Thomas thinks we are winning in Iraq?
Don't make me laugh.
We are not winning. Every time we kill an insurgent, 10 more take his place.

Because Bush and Cheney have had long-lasting stocks in Halliburton, and Halliburton is becoming richer in Iraq as we speak...this is having the same effect on Bush and Cheney's wallets too.

We are winning in Iraq, well that depends on what side you are on. Bush is doing his job in Iraq, you see if Iraq oil isn't flowing the price of oil goes up without the overhead. Bush is an oilman with oil ties, this is what they want, do you really think it would end with him in office.

In order to win you have to kill people. That seems to be against the Geneva Convention and the constitution.Besides if we don't win in a week or so shouldn't we just quit.
