go to your nearest radio shack or phone store, they will check the battery
for free...

sounds like your phone's battery is not holding a charge.
check your phone again - but with the AC charger plugged in.
if it works normally, then for sure, you need to replace the battery.
if it still have the same problem, then it's probably your phone.

It sounds like you have a low battery. You should have a charging unit with your phone.
