No, that is not too young. Boys and girls begin to have an interest in eachother almost from the beginning that they discover that there are two sexes of human beings and that they are different in many respects. Naturally, this leads to discussion and discovery as to what each sex represents. This then, allows the two sexes to accept eachother and want to associate with the opposite sex. Friendships develop and boys and girls begin to want to be with one another. As the boys and girls mature, they find that someday they will want to be together as husbands and wives and eventually want to have children. This is all perfectly natural and so if your friend is 11 and has a girlfriend, consider him as normal.

YES, THAT IS WAY TOO YOUNG!!! I believe that one should start dating when one can drive, because it is so stupid for a guy/girl to say to their parents, " mommy, will you drive my girlfriend and I to the movies?" It's so stupid! You sound like a little kid trying to play house. In my junior high, there are kids who are dating, and they look so stupid. Trust me, wait till you can drive!

at his age 11 is not to young to have a girl as a friend, its a cute stage, at 11 he doesnt really know what that is, just cool for his age and his friends to see

One thing is having a girlfriend. No problem with that.
A completely different thing is if they are having sex, going out late, getting drunk, and sneaking school.
