Having messed with horses nearly every day when I was a kid I'll tell ya that, unlike in the movies where the hero whistles and his trusty steed trots up and all but saddles himself, horses don't wanna be caught, saddled, or ridden, and, in fact don't like you.

Once you get them tamed and used to it I think they do. Did you
ever see the "Andy Griffith" show about the sick horse and no one
could figure out why the horse wouldn't eat. Well it wanted to
pull the milkwagon like it always did.

you could say the same of dogs - do they really want to be pets? I guess there's no real way of knowing, though some horse whisperers probably claim they do. For all we know, it depends on the individual horse.

I don't think so, but it's probably a lot of fun, and probably keeps the horses fit too, so all is well (except for the horses happiness that is)!!!

no....
well maybe--- exceptional horses. :) riding horses...
but would you want your sole purpose in life to be to carry someone around everywhere and get whipped even if it "doesnt hurt them". ??? i DONT THINK SO!
then again": some people like listening to music and some like playing it. some horses might like to be ridden. there is really no way to tell.
possibly they would fight it strongly if they didnt like it tho.
u no?
we need a horse interepreter!! ;) lol jk!

I support animal rights, and I say no. I sure wouldn't want some little girl on my back at a carnival. I'd prefer running off to Montana.

They enjoy a good canter that is without a doubt. I think that they don't mind being ridden myself.

I don't think so; I mean, nobody wants a 400 lb person riding on their back! lol After a while, even a 100 lb person would get heavy! lol
