There is no exact definition for the cause of breast cancer. There are many known causes and possible causes which you can avoid to lessen the risks. The diet, environment, drugs, your activities and practices, heredity, your age, sex, immune system conditions, etc. - have factors in them which can predispose anyone to have this cancer. Check out this site for more specific explanation of causes:http://www.emedicinehealth.com/breast_cancer/page2_em.htm
There are many things mentioned you should avoid, yet I would say in comparison it is the same situation as in saying "Smoking causes lung cancer", yet not all smokers get lung cancer and not all non-smokers was ever safe from getting lung cancer.
My best advice is for you to live healthy, eat healthy, do things healthy, think healthy and be healthy in any way.Know very well breast self examination . It is recommended practice for every female that will help to an early detection just in case. Check out this link for breast self examination guidelines: http://www.breastcancer.org/breast_exam_picture.html

Cells growing out of control and killing off the normal cells.
Prevention is a bit of a grey area as there are various types of cancer, some of which are hereditary. A healthy diet, drinking a glass of red wine a day (contains antioxidants which MIGHT help) , clean living (whatever that is lol) its really a case of one persons guess is as good as another's.
I think if its gonna happen theres not much you can do to stop it. Make sure you examine yourself every month so if there is a lump you will get it early and get early treatment, which is very helpful!
