The gubmit says they are going to 'secure the schools'. Do you actually think this is possible, apart from having the kids individually escorted by an officer (one per kid) everywhere they go?

Hey spelling complainers-

'gubmit' was an intentional mispelling (it's a Southern thing) and if you noticed my spelling (otherwise) you'd see that! I do not find the term 'redneck' offensive, either, BTW-better a humble redneck, than an arrogant Yankee!

Not possible unless either the 'Hammer and Sickle' or 'Swastika' replace the 'Stars and Stripes.'

American Public Schools are totally INSECURE.

The local, state, and federal governments cannot even pay teachers a decent wage, so what makes you think they can afford quality security.

Eight years teaching elementary, middle school, and high school has taught me this lesson.

The teachers are the first line of security, and I plan to open a can of whip a$$ on any whacko that walks into my classroom.

They may as well shoot me when they walk into my room because I plan to do them mucho, mucho harm otherwise.

It IS possible, but not from the government. This stuff didn't happen 40 years ago when "political correctness" was a concept and not the "rule of law". Private security would be the best answer now.

sure its possible but then the loss of freedoms activists will be out in droves saying the children are losing there rights if metal detectors go into all schools and you cant protect the schools a hundred percent but it can deter some of the head ache and problems, its gotten to a point teachers are afraid to go to schools because they are afraid the children will shoot them.......

We should be closing the schools and replacing it with an educational system that works. It's bad enough we send kids to government run daycare everyday where they learn next to nothing, they have to fear for their lives while they're learning nothing.

It is a sad day in society that we live in when people would want to hurt an innocent child. Unfortunately these days, it is an all to common occurrence. I have no idea what the solution should be, but too bad things aren't as simple as they used to be.

If people actually had the "right to bear arms" and they chose to exercise that right, our schools would be secure.

Gun control has led us into this situation where people are not allowed to have the tools to defend themselves. Let the people have their constitutional rights back.

Criminals think twice when anyone present can shoot them down.
