The noise only occurs in the first few minutes until it warms up and then it goes away. Should I be worried? Or is there some measures I should take? Thanks!

hmmm... too bad that there isn't anyplace you could take your jaguar to have it looked at.

you know, a place where certified professionals work on that type of car and could tell you exactly what is wrong by putting it through computer based tests?

hey! they could also sell NEW jaguars there...

gosh, i wonder why no one has made a place like this yet?

Sounds like the belt needs to tightened. Depending on the type of belt it may be serious. If it is a serpentine belt then it could be a bad tensioner, or an overly stretched belt. If it is a serpentine, and it breaks, you could do serious damage to you engine. When these break, you loose all of devices such as the water pump, alternator and air conditioning. I would have it checked as soon as possible. When compared to the cost of an engine overhaul a belt change is cheap!

i own a repair shop, and its the alternator belt on it doing it,,what causes it ,is when you start it it uses voltage from the battery ,and then the alternator puts back the needed amount ,when it kicks in this is making the belt slip a little, you might want to take it and have it tightened up a little, but it wont hurt anything on it,any car will do this and its considered normal for most cars, the belt may be getting a little worn,it can be replaced ,and it will stop it from doing it all together, good luck,i hope this help,s.
