Yes you misread the Bible. Homosexuality wasn't a word when the Bible was transcribed, so it certainly can't be in there. The people of that time didn't have a word for homosexuality because they accepted it as part of society. Jesus taught LOVE and God doesn't HATE anyone.

Go to http://www.godmademegay.com and see what that guy has to say about the "sin" of homosexuality.

Yes you are right but you must look past the phrase to the meaning behind it. I believe God wants people to be fruitful and multiply, this means man and woman. If we all went the way of homosexuality then how could we achieve this goal. I am sure that he doesn't want you to think that he hates you because you love someone of the same sex. As for debauchery well i think that he does frown upon that but does the love of a man for another man or woman for woman constitute debauchery or is his point directed more at rampant sexual deviance the kind that spreads decease and promote sexual deviance that hurts people. You must look at the meaning behind the phrase and not solely at the phrase itself. Peace too you.

Yes, you did misread the bible because you should know that the bible was never written by GOD, it was written by people who put their own beliefs and ideas into a book, then claimed that GOD wrote it so others would follow the book. And to respond to the first response. God did not destroy Sodomn and Gramora because the men were homosexual, he destroyied the city because the men wanted to harm the angels. So believe don't everything you read, and if you are a bible thumper or anti-gay hater then your in the wrong section.

Let me put all those who like to quote from the bible into context. First of all if you are reading an English version of the bible you are reading a translation where whoever or what version you have has chosen to interpret non-english terms and contexts into their own understanding of that. Second the bible is a series of historical writings written at different times in different contexts for a variety of purposes. Therefore any one with a grain of intelligence would know better than to blindly accept their literal interpretation of what they are reading and applying. Many passages contradict one another, as they were not written with the intention of being linked together in one continuous book!

Bearing all of these FACTS in mind it is dangerous, shortsighted and the biggest 'sin' of all to take the bible as anything more than a series of important historical documents translated for the particular translator's own bias!

No, you didn't misread the Bible. The Lord does hate that sin, but no more than he hates any other. It says in the Bible all sins are equal in His eyes. No one is worse than the other.
And, just like any other sin, you may repent, and be forgiven. You don't go to hell simply for commiting a sin. You go to hell because you do not repent, ask to be forgiven, ask the Lord into your heart, and turn away from your sinful ways.
He destroyed Soddam, and Ghamorrah, for it's sexual sins ( as well as others ) He also brought entire kingdoms to its knees, because of the greed of the kings, or corrupt armies. If you will read He has punished, AND had mercy on sins for all time.
The key is repenting, being forgiven, asking Him into your heart and turning away from you wicked ways. You don't go to hell just for commiting a sin, if that was the case we would all be damned to hell. But by the grace of God we aren't

hmmm, yes, well, i recall something along the lines of "love thine neighbor" or maybe that we all are God's children. or even get over the whole religion thing!!! it's a lovely idea, but when a belief starts affecting how you think and what you perceive as "right" and "wrong" you need to drop that belief. you are given a brain. it's a gift. YOU are supposed to use it. don't put some "higher" power in charge of you.

yes you did.
the bible talks about temple prostitution and men who give themselves over to unnatural inclinations which is a straight man who takes it up the *** for pay or for religious purposes.
the bible also talks about anal sex but that is in Leviticus and is in the same vein as not eating shell fish or wearing fabric made from two different types of fibers. so you decide if that one applies.
Loving male to meal and female to female or even male to female relationships are not a sin lust is a sin and if a gay person has sex in lust then he is sinning the same as a straight man who sleeps with a woman in lust is sinning.
