No, they were invaded by Japan so they fought against Japan. China was also having a civil war at the time, but the two forces (Nationalist China, Semi-Democratic and the Communist Chinese) joined forces in order to fight the Japanese.

China was under attack by the Japanese. Japan committed atrocities in China, that China will never forget. They welcomed any help from the US and other Allied Countries. They had no time to politicize WWII they just tried to survive.

Oh crap! Here come the Japs! No they weren't neutral, they just didn't have the military capability to defend themselves against the Japanese. Rent a movie like Flying Tigers. It's about how American civilian volunteers went to China and formed squadrons to try to help the Chinese defend themselves against the Japanese invasion.

China was invaded by Japan long before WW2 . They suffered horrific casualties and fought the Japanese to the end.

No, they were on the allies, because of the invasion by Japan. It's still pretty bitter, as the Japanese army did some bad things to the villages they went through
