It's always the last Thursday before the final full weekend of November. For example, if the 30th of November fell on a Friday, Thanksgiving would be on Thursday Nov 22nd.

Now I'm confused! I always thought that it was 17 November, which may make it the 3rd Thursday in the month - the Thursday thing rings a bell - Hope you have better answers than this!

Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday in November, or in Yooper-eze (the official language in Michigan's upper peninsula) the 2nd Thursday of fire-arm deer season. Up here our year starts with ice fishing season, then progresses to regular fishing, next is small game season, and we finish the year with deer hunting season. We like to be like everyone else and have 4 seasons too.......
