U can clean them 1 a month. Unless u use them xtra often maybe 2 times. Use anti-bacterial shampoo or soap. I use Johnson and Johnson Baby Shampoo on my expensive brushes. If they r not worth it buy some more.

Well I usually clean my brushes once a week at night, and let them dry overnight. You can always purchase brush cleansers, but they sometimes rum a bit expensive. I spoke with a makeup artist at MAC and they told me that you can keep your brushes clean and soft by using a gentle shampoo. I use my DOVE shampoo, try using one with shampoo & conditioner in one. That should do the trick. As far as your sponges go, the best thing to do is to buy new ones! Sponges soak up all the dirt and left over makeup and it's better to use new sponges rather than washing them since they're fairly inexpensive.

You should clean your brushes as often as you can, it helps to prevent cross contamination and out breaks of spots or rashes. I have to clean mine every day as I use mine on clients. I would reccommend placing then in warm water & a mild (anti-bacterial if possible) detergent, let them soak for a while and then gently wash the bristles. Remove them and then reshape them if neccessary and place on radiator to dry, or on some kitchen roll over night. I now use "BRUSH OFF" antibacterial brush cleaner and its great. You spray some on kitchen roll and wipe your brushes on it, they are are cleaned thoroughly quickly and drys immediately. However this is quite expensive, about £23 for 16oz but I think its great stuff and worth the money. If you were intersted you get it from "www.ellisons.co.uk" If not cleaning them the way I described works just as well, so good luck.
