Help me out - what's the quote, and from whom, about how when one commits and takes a step forward, the universe moves to accomodate? Thanks!

this sounds like Paulo Coehlo...he said in his fictional book the Alchemist: “When you want something the entire universe conspires to help you realise your dreams”.

I do not know, but from a theological point of view the universe never moves to accommodate any human.God is in control of everything and he is no respecter of persons. He does not set aside his plan every time someone decides that he must take a quantum leap into some worldly affair. If that were the case, then chaos would reign, and God is not the author of chaos, but of order.
