I've only seen the Sixth Sense once, but I remember that it confused the heck out of me. I guess if i'd paid more attention i'd probably know...but I am a punk when it comes to scary movies, and spent most of my time hiding my face under the pillow. lol Anyway, I know that Bruce Willis was actually a ghost, but I remember being confused because if he was really dead, then how was his wife talking to him? Like when they had dinner together at the restaurant, when they were at home, etc.? Also, the young boy Haley Joel Osmond played? His mother saw Bruce Willis too right? Wasn't she the one that called him to help the little boy in the first place?

Question: Anyway, I know that Bruce Willis was actually a ghost, but I remember being confused because if he was really dead, then how was his wife talking to him? Like when they had dinner together at the restaurant, when they were at home, etc.?

She wasn't actually talking to him. She was talking to him as if he were there, almost like she was talking to herself. Kind of like if you go to a cemetery and "talk" to your loved one's grave.

Question: Also, the young boy Haley Joel Osmond played? His mother saw Bruce Willis too right? Wasn't she the one that called him to help the little boy in the first place?

It was never explained how he got called on to the case, but the mother didn't see him. Watch the movie again, you'll notice that the only one talking to and directly interacting with Bruce Willis is Haley Joel Osmond. The mother never said a word to him.

Hope that helps!

It's been a while since I saw the film so my answer may not be the most accurate, but I dont recall a point within the film where Bruce willis' wife actually spoke to him, even if he spoke to her. I don't think the boy's mother saw him either.

she never speaks to him once in the dinner scene, we assume she is ignoring him when she is actually mourning him

Osment's character can see and speak with the dead.

I think Bruce implied that the mother called him in, but the one scene where it looks like she talks to Bruce, she is just calling the son in for dinner and made no reference to Bruce or the therapy.

if i recall after the 'reveal' Bruce flashes back to these moments and others in question and we see the truth

I remember the restaurant scene. I don't think she ever spoke directly to him. He may have talked with her but she was only talking to the waiter, I believe. And she never looked at him directly.

Malcolm's wife was talking to his memory (for lack of a better description) due to her loneliness and still mourning her husband on their anniversary and the only person that could see him was Cole.

She didn't talk to him really. She was just thinking of him as he has been dead all along.
