First, I suggest you switch on your TV and go to a channel that shows current foreign exchange rates. One such channel is "Bloomberg". Another is "CNBC." Or, you get hold of a current daily newspaper, and go to the financial page that gives current foreign exchange rates, etc. If I remember correctly one pound sterling is now equivalent to roughly US dollars 1.84. So to get the equivalent of US$649 in pounds sterling just multiply that figure by 1.84. If you have a handphone, you just go to its calculator for that purpose. Otherwise, you may just do the multiplication manually.
