this is not a qeustion intended to be racasit it's more so just a observation, all people should be treated the same regardless of their color or sex but sometimes it just seems that hollywood is indirectly telling it's viewers that white's are more filmable then blacks

It might even be fair to say that there are more good whites actors then black actors but, doesn't it seem that a bad white actor would be choosen for a part before a bad black actor.

giving the whites more practice then the blacks now that just doesn't seem fair. The blackest show on television right now is the wire on HBO which needless say protrays blacks the same as hollywood always has, it's as if there are no whites in the ghetto's in baltimore MD.

While the TV shows and movies scripts have become more accurate over the years it just seems hollywood still refuses to film the true society we all live in.

If those shows with multiethnic casts had compelling stories more people would watch and they would make more shows w/ multi ethnic casts, and teh loop would continue untill it ceased to make money.
In a world where UPN had possibly the highest ratio of black to white characters on its network, and ends up merging into CW what does that say for America's appitite for ethnic balance on TV

White people make up the majority of the population in the United States, therefore it makes sense that there are more white people on television. If there were 50% black and 50% white actors being portrayed on tv it wouldn't be accurate to the society we live in.

White population is much greater than black, so it does make sense why there are more white actors than black..

You mention "white" and "black", but you forget Asians. My lover is from Japan, and she says you are a racist to see only people of European or African ancestry when there are more Asians than any other group. We don't think there are enough Asians on TV. To heck with whites and blacks!

i thought that's why there was BET--to even things out a bit. actually, there's too many black people on BET for my taste.

actually, i keep my tv tuned to telemundo---i think it is. the spanish speaking station. all those latinos running around in their garishly colored clothes chattering like squirrels on crystal meth---that's my kind of entertainment.

About 80% of America is white, so it follows that 80% of characters would be white.
