In the post-industrial age, there appears to have been an enormous increase in the number of civil servants and other government employees.

Are we now in the situation where society is in danger of being destroyed by these people?

What a Very good Question , over the last Twenty Years , the Pace of and spread of bureaucracy and the numbers of civil servants has increased massively , the Evils of interfering and meddling in literally every aspect of our commercial , civil matters and private lives has reached epidemic proportions , much of it is almost un noticeable until it is too late ,insidious and pernicious ,the tradgey is that this army of Interferers have no idea of the reality and workings of that which they are interfering with , aided and abetted by the mindless ,mentally retarded Politically correct the Jobsworths , Traffic Wardens Etc Etc , the damage is on a scale not yet fully realised ,unless the British Public WAKE UP this cancer will wreck the very fibre of our , already seriously damaged society Local Councils have long adopted an attitude that they are superior to the Rate Payers and their attitude to their services is "Take it of Leave it" an Arrogance with is gathering momentum by the month , But all this is no accident, it is an e un-elected extension of a Government which is Rotten to the Core which is suppressing Free Speech , freedom of thought and has the most serious and Dangerous Implications , if we fail to take action Now = Mass Lobbying of our M P,s , Local Councils Etc , a new form of Tyranny will be established

Yup... bureaucracy is like a cancer, it will always grow. And it is mostly independent of control by elected Representatives. If anything can kill a nation it is the ever growing bureaucracy. Conservatives try to cut back or control the growth, but they usually are not very successful and it grows on. Problem is that their are to many special interest groups that are willing to support and encourage the growth. From Green Peace to the NAACP to the AARP to etc... they all put their own self interest above the welfare of the country as a whole.

Under a Federal regime in Europe, and Blairs mother state control, the simple answer is yes. People have lost the right and even the will for self control and governance. All aspects of life in this fair land are being throttled to the point of collapse.

It is not yet out of control, just off the track and stalled to fresh ideas like lessening the tax burden through elimination of IRS and the installation of a national sales tax, that would eliminate the low income and the poor from the tax all together. Good people are discouraged to go into small enterprise, because of the red tape involved. Do not even mention the EPA

Bureaucracy is definitely out of control here in UK. There's so much red-tape its now knee deep in every street in the land. There are far too many rules and regulations and petty fogging jobsworths running about making life hell for the businessman and the citizen alike. Time to take action.

Bureaucracy is pulsing in time, like a hart. It fights to become out of control, but the creative rest of the world is fighting to control it. The truth is somewhere in the middle, but it could be apreciate only after more generations. Now, it is out of control.

You are just now seeing this? Nepotism.

A government based on roman, greek and european justice cannot remain, when you've taken three failed ones and tried to make thme work, they will not work they will all fail.

the usa is now roman, egyptian and greek all mixed in with who knows what. Doomed from the start.

Only people that have remained a people are the TRUE HEBREWS who have remained even during disporia. so who knows how to do it with 4000 years of history to back it up?

Not from the people who do the work, but from the politicians and the politically correct brigade who change the goalposts.

Local government are doing a job under difficult conditions and get stick from all directions
