The mission of Whitworth College is to provide “an education of mind and heart” through rigorous intellectual inquiry guided by dedicated Christian scholars. While neither Whitworth nor Act Six expects or requires any faith commitment from students, both are committed to exploring Christian perspectives on important issues including diversity, leadership, reconciliation and service. What impact does this commitment have on your decision to apply for the Act Six Initiative?

Whitworth’s mission had, in fact, been one of the main reasons why I decided to apply to this college. As of now, I am unsure of what religion I belong to. My situation, when it comes to faith, is very confusing. My parents are divorced, and I have always lived with my mother. Although she is Buddhist and is very keen to keeping up with the Buddhist traditions, she does not force me to choose this religion. My father, who lives clear across the nation, is Christian. I have been introduced to both these religions and both have many different beliefs. With this in mind, I have decided that rather than choosing a religion, I will expand my knowledge on religions with different perspectives. The Act Six Initiative is the perfect program that will help me with this.
Finding what I believe in is very important to me, so it was very crucial for me to apply to this program. I have already taken the first step in deciding to explore the Christian perspectives and have even begun reading the Bible to learn more. The Act Six will definitely help me in taking the other steps.

As a high school English teacher experienced in helping my seniors with a college application essay, I would tell you NOT to discuss the divorce situation since it does not keep your focus on the topic.
I have only taken what you have stated and kept it short, simple, and to the point. Your material (which already had excellent ideas) is now complete and concise.

One of the major reasons I have applied to Whitworth is to explore religious philosophy. Although my mother keeps the Buddhist traditions, my father is Christian. I have been introduced to both of these religions and would like to expand my knowlege of others. The Act Six Initiative appears to be the perfect program tailor-made for me.

It is crucial to my well-being that I explore my Christian beliefs. I have begun reading the Bible in order to learn more. The Act Six Initiative at Whitworth College will provide me with the educational background that I need to continue to explore important Christian issues and perspectives.

Good luck with your acceptance!

Start new paragraph on "As of now..." Suggestion: I have a somewhat unusual background in regards to faith, and I am in a time of indecision as to what is my true religion. My parents differ in their outlook; my mother, with whom I've lived since my parents' divorce, is a Buddhist, and is devoted to the Buddhist traditions. She has never insisted that I do the same. My father, who has since relocated to the opposite side of the nation, is a Christian.
"Although I have been introduced to both religions, and appreciate what each has to offer, at this time, rather than choosing a religion, I wish to expand my knowledge on religions with different perspectives...etc.
"Discovering my spiritual path is very important to me, and therefore, applying to this program was a crucial step. I have already....etc.....to learn more. The Act Six will provide the necessary foundation, in guiding me in further steps.

it certainly relies upon on the kind you artwork. there is not any set quantity of time you will desire to take to artwork on an essay. it truly is all appropriate to the same old of the content, no longer appropriate to the time invested. That being suggested, it does under no circumstances harm to start as quickly as achieveable. i think of the main serious concern to bear in mind while writing your essay is to be uncomplicated, be your self, and ascertain you write an essay which you'll be pleased with. make optimistic that as quickly as you're finished writing the essay, you have somebody else examine it. be optimistic that your message is obvious, and you haven't any longer have been given any spelling or grammatical blunders. good success!!

What? I cannot answer your college application but I can answer your religious belief's. Honestly I don't think there is a correct religion. I believe in the Bible and I even research the Bible to get my correct answers. (The King James Version-Holy Bible)
