Coz the blood slows down while you are resting, and fluid can seep out into the tissues around the blood veseels. This is normal. When you get up and start moving around the blood moves faster and the fluid in the tissue drains away.
I always notice that my rings are tighter in the morning but they can be almost dropping off by the end of the day. :)
Unless the swelling lingers you're probably OK but if it does no go down perhaps seek some medical advice.

We are all a little puffy first thing in the morning.
Its the result of lying still for so many hours. Unless the swelling is severe, it's nothing to worry about---it happens to everyone.
