i'd imagine their purpose is like that of any spider -- to control the population of insects (gnats, flies, fleas, ticks, etc.) you find them in the woods, so they must be the population control for woodland bugs.
DID YOU KNOW that the poison of the daddy long legs is fatal to humans? It's true, but don't be scared -- they are not capable of biting us -- their heads are too small, and so are their jaws -- they cannot open their mouths wide enough to deliver a poisonous bite to animals as large as humans. So they have to stick to insects.

That depends what you mean by "daddy long-legs". In the UK, a daddy long-legs is a crane fly. In the USA, it seems to refer to harvestmen and cellar spiders.

Their purpose is to live their wiggly little lives and be left alone by repulsive people who want to hurt them. I don't know who on here got the idea daddy long legs can fly, either.
I've read that in England they're called Harvestmen. That's neat.

They eat other annoying insects is what they do.
As far as the point of them - well something has do that or the world would be overrun.

They do naff all apart from fly around nd eventualy get eaten by my cat and get there legs pulled of by me when im drunk lol.
